Delete your Affinira account
In plain language
- You can delete your account yourself, in the Android app or on the website.
- Deletion takes effect at once and cannot be undone.
- If you can't sign in, email us from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.
How to delete your account
- Sign in to Affinira, in the Android app or at affinira.com.
- Open Account, then Settings.
- Under Delete your account, enter your password. If your account has no password, ask for a code by email instead and enter that code.
- Tick the box to confirm, then press the button to delete your account.
What happens when you delete it
Deletion starts as soon as you confirm. Every card on your account stops working at once, including archived cards, and you are signed out on every device.
If you own a team, deleting your account also closes the team. Every member is emailed a warning first, and the team is deleted no sooner than 30 days later. A team with no other members closes at once. If you belong to someone else's team, you leave it, and the contacts you collected for that team stay with the team.
What is deleted
Your cards, photos and logos, contacts, notes and login are then deleted, and any subscription you have is cancelled. Unused subscription time is not refunded.
What is kept
Some records are kept after deletion: billing records, including customer, subscription, invoice, payment and refund records; entitlement and subscription-revocation records; account-access history; administrative holds; deletion records; and audit records. Stripe, our payment provider, keeps its own customer and billing records.
These records are not anonymous. They keep identifiers for your former account, your Stripe records and your deleted login, and Stripe keeps the billing details it collected, such as your email address. Billing records are kept because the law requires it; the privacy policy explains how your data is handled.
Without the app or the website
Email hello@affinira.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We only act on a request from the email address on your account, or after you confirm it from that address. If that isn't enough to know it's you, we may ask for one more detail about your account. We never ask for ID documents for this.
